Chant for the day

I will not watch the Tropics.
I will not watch the Tropics.
I will not watch the Tropics.
DAM, I'm watching the Tropics...

As if packing and preparing to move the boys through an array of planes, trains (well, trains at airports), and automobiles wasn't enough, I know have to keep one eye on Ike and the other on Josephine. But, we are brave travelers. As long as we can get there, we will go there. We have a rental car and we have tons of family nearby. We also know where the nearest Wallyworld and Bass Pro Shop is if we need full out rain gear. But, still I watch.

There is also the usual pre-trip drama. Tee went to the ER last night with a severe upper respiratory infection. She's all hopped up on antibiotics and steroids. We're still a good 10 days out, so that should give her time to heal. I bought the wrong memory card for my new digital camera and had to go exchange it. I still haven't painted Hoot's t-shirt for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and now DH can't figure out what he did with Hoot's t-shirt that I need to send to Tee so she can put the birthday transfers on it.

And me? I can't turn off the Weather Channel! Arrrgh!

Quote for the day, stolen from one of the posters on the Disboards:
You should live your life so that every morning, when you put your feet on the floor, Satan trembles and says, "Oh SH**! She's awake!"

Overheard in the bookstore:
Does it have any questionable passages in it? I guess I'll just read it first. My son is only sixteen and I have to approve everything he reads.
I hope that boy has a college fund that allows him to afford something out of state.
